Marc MaurusMarc Maurus is a Vietnam Veteran. Not only did he survive that experience, but alcoholism, and drug addiction, as well as a suicide attempt in 1995. He suffered a closed head injury from that attempt, and was told by the treating physicians that medical science could do nothing to cure that condition. Asking what he himself might do, he was told that if he read constantly, every waking moment, every day, he might stand a chance of healing the brain damage. Always an avid reader, Marc read over one millions words a week, every week, for nine months. He read himself well, and completely recovered from his disability. Today, he is a published performance poet, and, along with the Poet – in – Residence of Plymouth, Michigan, Rod Reinhart, co-produces the poetry television show "The Poet and the Power." Hi works has been published by the Detroit News, Midwest Poetry Review, Solidarity Magazine, Glowing Embers, Mobius: The Poetry Magazine, and "Why Would Anyone Pose Them Like That?" , the first Voices on the Wind Anthology.
